What So Not Showcases Creative Maturation In ‘Anomaly’ Album
What So Not recently showed us his easy-going approach to life in our latest episode of Do You FUXWITHIT? What surprised us the most was the fact that there really isn’t that much that the established artist doesn’t enjoy. That is likely the mentality that has allowed the Australian artist to thrive in an industry where artists sometimes pigeonhole themselves to a single genre or sound. What So Not is a master of experimentation, and this open-mindedness knows no limits. The 2018 album Not All The Beautiful Things solidified the creative among the elite in terms of versatility across genres, and he has since continued to evolve in countless ways.
Today, What So Not unveils the next chapter to his album journey – an eleven track epic that has been three years in the making titled Anomaly. The project displays a maturation of the artist’s abilities and his approach to making music, stating “I don’t care what the streams reflect, awards or accolades, I have no doubt this is the best music I’ve ever made. NO DOUBT.” What So Not is all about authenticity and that runs rampant in Anomaly. Featuring collaborations with the likes of Oliver Tree, Louis The Child, Body Ocean, and many more, What So Not once again showcases his talents in working with vocalists and producers alike, meshing various styles and letting all contributors shine in their own right. Among the standouts include a euphoric, emotion-driven future bass bop titled ‘Black Shadow’ which sees the recently-elusive Enschway make a statement of a return, and the unexpected collaboration with ZOID LAND, Phi11a and Tek Genesis that balances crisp production and snappy vocals.
No matter your favourite genre, Anomaly is sure to include at least one track most casual listeners will enjoy, and a handful of cuts worthy of playing on repeat for others. Don’t miss it below.
