J Aktive Shows Off His Storytelling Skills With Recent LP Bad Luv

J Aktive shared his eight-track album titled Bad Luv this summer, which includes the songs “Cell Phone,” “Feel With It,” “Fall Back,” “The One,” “Missed Calls,” “All I Want,” “Bad Luv,” and the viral hit track “Pist Off.” Collaborating with SuperRoper, Hailes, Pare EA, W33Z, Gabriele West, JSP, Kay Franklin, and Tati Elicia, the beat-boxer blends Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, and Neo-soul sounds together to create a unique story that talks about masculine vulnerability.

The urban musician opens up about embracing his true self  and creating music interpreting past events and experiences; “I feel like I am art. I feel like my art is an expression of who I am. It’s like an extension of me. I believe that what makes things mainstream is creating something that the majority of people can relate to. As long as I remain sincere in my music, I feel it will always come off as mainstream because most of us deep down inside are all the same.”

J Aktive plans to drop new music videos for the promotion of his new LP Bad Luv. The visuals of the single “The One” is set to come out this month.  The fast-rising star wants to continue on his innovative part by creating a brand new genre; “I’m a big fan of Neo Soul at heart. I love artists like Music Soulchild and India Arie. But I also love being aggressive in my music because it comes so naturally to me, so I like to blend the two with my lyrical hip hop style.”
