Salmo against streaming platforms and social media “there is no longer freedom of expression”

Salmo is fed up. Mace’s new single, Non mi riconosco, has been released in recent days, featuring him as the protagonist with centomilacarie. Well, Salmo tried to share the song on Instagram and promptly got the content blocked. It is already absurd that an artist cannot publish his own song or video on social media, because the content is the property of the relevant record label and the artist is not recognized in the slightest, but as we know it is not the first time this has happened or an artist points this out. Salmo’s speech is broader. It talks about how streaming platforms don’t pay artists enough and how, both in songs and on social media, one cannot express a thought in total freedom and that this obviously undermines freedom of expression, which in my humble opinion is practically nothing .

These are the words of Psalm: “Music is already almost completely free, because you should know that streaming platforms pay us a lot. They don’t give us anything. But I can’t even post on Instagram the songs I’ve made, that we’ve made, for more than 29 seconds. We don’t know why. If you post it for 30 seconds they’ll write the song down for you. But I made the song. Not even if they whitelist you, but no more than 29 seconds. You have to be careful about what you say in the songs, the photos you post, the videos you make, otherwise they’ll block it. Art then has to be thrown away, there is no longer free expression”.

Salmo then goes on to talk about how some topics are censored on social media:

If you’ve noticed, you can’t even say what’s happening in Palestine otherwise Zuckerberg blocks everything. We are living in an absurd time and no one is saying or doing anything”.
