Stacey Dash Slams Relapse Rumors, Says She’s Been “Clean” For Over 7 Years
Stacey Dash found herself shutting down critics who speculated that she relapsed after admitting to battling with substance abuse for years. The 57-year-old celebrated her eight-year sobriety in a recent TikTok video, where she highlighted many comments from users accusing her of being “high.”
“Wow. Thank you so much for all of your concern. I just want to say that I am doing brilliantly. I am 7 years and 9 months clean. Yay!” she revealed in the clip. “I hope by doing this, I help somebody else. ‘Cause I know the struggle’s real.”
The Clueless star shared her plans to be more candid about her past battles with addiction and how she overcame them. Dash claims that her “mind, body, and spirit” has been transformed and she would love for her supporters to follow her on her journey.
In 2016, Dash first mentioned that she struggled with addiction during an interview, while also revealing that both of her parents were users. At that time, she shared the shocking revelation that her own mother gave her a line of cocaine at just 16 years old. From there, the Celebrity College Hill star battled with the drug for years and didn’t fully sober up until she became pregnant with her son Austin Williams in 1991.
Dash admitted that in 2021, she relapsed when she was prescribed Vicodin by her doctor. She said that she would sometimes take 20 pills a day. More recently, the public thought she may have relapsed again when she posted a video of her excessively sweating.
However, Dash claimed that she had just got done working out.
