Reaper Returns To The Top With Recent Single 'Make A Move'

The last year was full of uncertainty for the world of music, but one thing became abundantly clear, drum and bass is here to stay in North America. One of the names that have been leading the charge, is the masked menace himself, Reaper. With a project birthed from the depths of SoundCloud, Reaper has set the dance scene ablaze with his unrelenting high-energy drum and bass records that seem to pull influences from hip-hop all the way to punk. By now, you should be familiar with Reaper, as the man in question has become a regular on flagship labels like Monstercat & Bassrush and recently just launched his own radio show with Insomniac called ’The Pulse’ where he looks to continue to push the sounds of DnB across this continent. The mysterious entity even blessed us with a guest mix a few months back, and since then it’s been nothing but up for Reaper with massive singles like ‘Levitate’ and his remix of Deathpact’s ‘ID‘. Now the seasoned veteran returns to bass rush with yet again another weapon of a track in ‘Make A Move’.

We begin in a truly theatrical fashion, with a looped vocal and some claps setting the tone out the gate. Soon after, the risers begin to peak through the mix before the eventual reveal of a drop section that comes fully loaded with heavily distorted baselines, pounding percussion elements, and an infinite barrage of synths. In true Reaper fashion, after another quick build-up, we’re met with a much welcome half-time switch that provides the perfect cherry on top of this already huge record.
