MF DOOM x Czarface Continue To Carry The Underground In 'Super What?' – FUXWITHIT
It’s only been a few months since we’ve honored late legend MF DOOM on FUXWITHIT, but we’re so glad this next post shares some good news. A collaborative album from MF DOOM and Czarface is here and we know it made everyone go, “Super What?”
If you’re not acquainted with Czarface yet, they’re a hip-hop collective that includes 7L & Esoteric, and Inspectah Deck (of Wu-Tang Clan). They also give a rundown of the supergroup on the skit-interlude, ‘Name to the Face,’ where they poke fun at people who just don’t get it. But now that you’re familiar, you’ll know this album isn’t one to miss.
The comic book-themed project isn’t surprising, given both MF DOOM and Czarface’s villain and hero personas. DOOM was even featured on the group’s second studio album, Every Hero Needs a Villian, playing his Metal Face character. In full circle, Super What? gives us everything we’ve ever hoped for and more.
Filled to the brim with silly skits, cheeky puns, intricate rhymes, and frictionless flows, it’s obvious why these artists are so revered in the underground. The rappers work cohesively to create something fun and playful we can enjoy. With all of the mourning the hip-hop community has been doing lately, we can say Super What? was much-needed.
Listen to MF DOOM and Czarface connect on Super What? below and remember to give people their flowers while they’re still here. We miss you, DOOM.
