Inside Keyshia Cole And Tank’s MLK Weekend Doo Wop
Keyshia Cole and Tank took over Atlanta on Friday (Jan. 17) in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Held at the Soho Lounge with a “chic and stylish” dress code, the “Doo-Wop: All R&B Soul Music Party Experience” featured Jermaine Dupri as the guest DJ as well as other familiar faces including Bryan-Michael Cox, Ari Lennox, Monica, Lil Zane, and more. This event followed Keyshia and Tank’s New Year’s Eve bash that had over 1,200 guests in Miami.
The celebration was bittersweet considering Cole lost her Los Angeles home in the recent wildfires. The singer has not spoked about the incident directly, but her hairstylist Hairstylist Jonathan Wright posted a photo of the rubble in a since-deleted Instagram post.
“@keyshiacole Prayers to Freen and her Kids and family. I ask everyone to send them a Prayer up lift her spirits,” he wrote in the caption. “She was also affected by the Fire, like, literally a week ago we in Miami to come home to this is crazy like mind Blowing [three praying hands emoji] Freenn wasn’t gone say nothing. I feel like she should cause this s**t is crazy how this happened to everyone [praying hands emoji].”
Cole was one of many celebrities who lost their homes in the wildfires. Jhené Aiko, Tina Knowles, and more were also affected. The fires have killed at least 24 people, destroyed over 12,000 structures, and left thousands of residents displaced.
However, the “Love” singer did appear at another MLK weekend event on Sunday (Jan. 19) in Charlotte, N.C..
