Flavor Flav Partners With GoFundMe To Help Black Families Impacted By LA Wildfires

In the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires, Flavor Flav is using his influence and platform to assist those impacted with the launch of a fundraiser.

On Monday (Jan. 20), the Public Enemy member announced the new initiative, created in partnership with GoFundMe and the Black Music Action Coalition, on social media.

“This is Flavor Flav in the building,” the musician says a clip posted on his Instagram account. “It’s been inspiring to me, seeing a lot people coming together right now, lifting each other’s spirits.”

“There’s not enough being done for the Black families and the communities,” the legendary hype-man added. “Come on, y’all. Let’s make L.A. strong, baby. Let’s help those in need.”

The New York native further expressed the importance of giving back in times of adversity, noting the disparity between the assistance that has been giving to members of the Black community who have been affected by the natural disaster.

“It’s been inspiring to see so many people come together as one to lift each other up, and I just want to highlight one aspect of the larger LA community in dire need,” Flav wrote in the post’s caption.

“Not enough is being done for the black families and community in the aftermath of the California fires. I’ve partnered up with GoFundMe and the Black Music Action Coalition to create ONE main GoFundMe campaign to immediately help those in need.”

The 65-year-old called out for entertainers and celebrities to join him and others in contributing to the fund, which has raised over $35,000 as of Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 21).

“I urge not only black artists and musicians and creators, but EVERYONE to come together and continue to help those in still in desperate need,” he added.
