Coco Jones To Set Off WrestleMania XL With National Anthem Performance
Coco Jones has been tapped to sing the National Anthem on the inaugural night of WrestleMania XL.
Veteran wrestler Triple H announced the news about the Grammy award-winning singer, who will take center stage on Saturday (April 6). The first night of the exciting event will also see a plethora of acts including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returning to the ring.
Additional wrestlers Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Drew McIntyre, IYO Sky, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Logan Paul, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, brothers Jey and Jimmy Uso, Rey Mysterio, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Bayley, Asuka, Kairi Sane and more will fight for the championship belt and bragging rights.
Way ahead of this weekend’s exciting live event, The Rock joined the Board Of Directors for TKO Group Holdings, a merger of the WWE and UFC. Shortly after the news, the 10-time world champion made his grand return to the beloved WWE show where he performed his legendary move, “The People’s Elbow,” for the first time in years.
“My grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, and my dad, Rocky ‘Soulman’ Johnson, would’ve never thought this day would come,” he said in a statement announcing his new role. “Which is why I’m very humbled to have a seat at the table that has decades of history and family legacy for me. A table that my family helped to build.”
“Being on the TKO Board of Directors, and taking full ownership of my name, ‘The Rock’, is not only unprecedented, but incredibly inspiring as my crazy life is coming full circle,” he added.
WrestleMania XL will take place this weekend (April 6 and April 7) and will stream live at 7 p.m. ET on Peacock and on the WWE Network. Check out the entire bill for the opening night here.
