J.R. Smith Says Cam Newton Interviewing Royce Reed On Dwight Howard’s Sexuality Is “Hella Corny”

J.R. Smith is not a fan of Cam Newton‘s recent sit down with Royce Reed, who claimed her ex-partner Dwight Howard shared intimate moments with other men. Taking to social media, Smith expressed his disdain for the platforming of the conversation.

“Respectfully this is hella corny Cam, bringing on a Black woman to kill a Black man is never cool, don’t care who’s right or wrong,” Smith wrote on Instagram. “All clickbait ain’t good clickbait. This ain’t love.”

Newton responded, “Call it what you want. Respectfully… I don’t go back n forth in no comments… I ain’t hard to find sir…”

The exchange comes after Reed appeared on Newton’s Funky Fridays show last week. She and Howard, who have one son together, have had public disagreements in the past. In their viral discussion, she alleges Howard was intimate with men, “all the time,” and that the former NBA player frequently used psychedelics for the experiences.

“Have you ever witnessed him being with another man in the bed?” Newton asked Reed at the 01:29:10 mark of the interview.

“Yeah. All the time,” she quickly responded. “They took mushrooms together and then they were like in the bed moaning and touching themselves … but they say that’s an effect of taking mushrooms. I didn’t take them. I pretended to but I didn’t. I spit them right out.”

She continued to detail, “When this would happen, it was like, late. So they [the children] were done for the night,” after describing how the children would be in a different area of the house with a nanny.

Howard responded to the allegations by claiming that he has a “positive diss song” on the way.

“About to drop the first positive diss song ever,” Howard wrote, followed by a prayer-hands emoji. “YUP Me & my wife @amylucianiworld about to inspire all of our enemies, #noshade #praygodhealtheyhearts.”
