Tekashi 6ix9ine Sues LA Fitness For $1M Over Brutal Gym Beatdown

Tekashi 6ix9ine has filed a lawsuit against LA Fitness almost two years after suffering a beatdown at their South Florida location. TMZ reports that the controversial entertainer, né Daniel Hernandez, is looking for $1 million in damages, claiming that the establishment’s negligence led to the brutal attack at the alleged hands of three Latin Kings gang members—Rafael Medina Jr., Octavious Medina, and Anthony Maldonado.

The suit states that Hernandez was assaulted and robbed in the attack, allegedly leading to physical injuries such as a bruised jaw, disability, shame, decrease in income, and “diminished quality of life.” The three men have been arrested in connection to the 2013 Hernandez attack.

As previously reported, Tekashi was hospitalized in the March 2023 attack after being jumped at the South Florida location. According to a TMZ report at the time, the Brooklyn-based rapper was approached by a group of men while in the sauna. Tekashi attempted to ward the men off but was eventually stomped out and left in the facility battered and bloodied. It should be noted that the rapper didn’t have any security guards with him during the time of his attack.

Shortly after the beatdown, video footage leaked online showing the combative artist lying on the ground while being jabbed and stomped.

“Bi**h a**! Clown a** ni**a!” one of the assailants in the clip remarked. “Take a picture! I want to be famous now, ni**a!” Even the videographer got in on the action, typing a caption for the video referring to 6ix9ine as a “rat.” “King Sh*t we caught 6ix9ine slipping f**k a rat ADR not on our hood,” it read.
