The legal battle between Adidas and Kanye West is over

Adidas has reached an out-of-court settlement with Ye to end all legal proceedings between them.

“There are no longer any open questions. We no longer owe him anything and he no longer owes us anything. In this way we are putting an end to the issue. What happened is history,” CEO Bjorn Gulden told reporters on a conference call, during which he declined to provide further details on the deal.

Adidas distanced itself from Ye two years ago following the rapper’s various racist and anti-Semitic comments. Adidas had decided to launch the remaining stocks of “Yeezy” on the market and part of the proceeds were donated to the Adidas Foundation. In total, the company donated almost 250 million euros from Yeezy proceeds. In fact, Adidas had the right to use YEEZY designs, even after the separation with Ye, although it could no longer use the YEEZY name, it could still continue to produce them.
