Linkin Park are back with a single, a new album announcement and a tour

Linkin Park – Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, Joe Hahn, along with new members Emily Armstrong (of the critically acclaimed band Dead Sara) on co-vocals and Colin Brittain on drums – are back after a seven-year hiatus.

The iconic band returns with a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” and a new video, as well as a global livestream performance (available for 24 hours only here), and the launch of 6 arena shows in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota as part of the From Zero World Tour.

But the surprises don’t end there: LINKIN PARK’s first album since 2017, FROM ZERO, is also coming on November 15th.

Without any expectations, Shinoda, Delson, Farrell and Hahn hung out for the past few years like any group of old friends would. Rather than “try to restart the band,” their instinct was simply to spend more time together and reconnect with the creativity and camaraderie that had been at the core of their friendship since college. During this time, they invited various friends and collaborators to join them in the studio; among the guests, they found a special affinity with Armstrong and Brittain. A natural chemistry drew these musicians back into its gravitational pull as they logged more and more hours in the studio. It was the sound of seasoned musicians rediscovering the unstoppable energy of a new beginning. And so FROM ZERO was taking shape.

Speaking about the new era, Shinoda said: “Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. The album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we are on. Sonically and emotionally, it is about the past, present and future – embracing our signature sound, yet fresh and vibrant. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and long-time bandmates, our friends, our family and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years and are excited for the journey that lies ahead.”.

From the very first bars, “The Emptiness Machine” channels LINKIN PARK’s DNA, harnessing the band’s explosive energy while maintaining the hallmarks of their instantly identifiable and inimitable sound. A chameleonic and catchy anthem, in which Shinoda’s hypnotic melodies alternate with Armstrong’s incandescent choirs, on distorted riffs and dizzying drums.
