LEGO Unveils Interactive Mural for Marracash’s Marra Block Party

LEGO Italia has officially joined forces with iconic rapper Marracash for the Marra Block Party, a landmark event taking place in the Barona neighborhood of Milan. This collaboration transcends traditional sponsorship, utilizing the medium of construction to foster a deeper connection between the artist and his home community.

The initiative, held in via Enrico De Nicola, serves as more than just a concert; it is a celebration of local talent, street art, and neighborhood pride. As an official partner, LEGO Italia has commissioned a large-scale, multi-level installation designed by LEGO® Certified Professional Riccardo Zangelmi. Comprising nearly 10,000 bricks, the structure stands as a testament to the power of collective creativity.

The installation features a mural spelling out “BARONA,” conceptualized by renowned Milanese writers ViperHaze and Luna. In a unique interactive twist, attendees are invited to detach and keep individual LEGO bricks, effectively taking home a piece of the event’s history. As the bricks are removed from the upper section, a hidden message is revealed: “We are unique pieces from the same neighborhood.” This phrase, also crafted by the artists, underscores themes of diversity, unity, and the strength found in shared origins.

To solidify the connection, Marracash has left his signature on non-removable white bricks, symbolizing his permanent bond with the community that shaped him. Following the conclusion of the festivities, the installation will be donated to Barrio’s, a local cultural center, ensuring that the artwork remains a lasting fixture for the residents of Barona to enjoy.
