Will Simone Biles Compete At The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics?

Simone Biles opened up about the likelihood of her competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Speaking in  Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she was honored as a special guest by the city’s mayor, Jorge Macri, the 28-year-old explained that both her physical and mental health must meet certain standards for her to consider hitting the floor.

“So, currently, I am taking some time off from the gym because I think it’s really important that your physical health matches your mental health,” explained the professional athlete. “That’s why you saw so much of my success in Paris, because the mental and the physical were right on par,” she added, “They were right on track with each other, so I think that’s really, really important.”

The Olympic gold medalist continued to detail her mental health journey, clarifying that she attends therapy weekly.

“So, I’m not sure what 2028 looks like, but I will be there at some capacity. I just don’t know right now if it’s on the floor or in the stands. But I definitely want to go and be a part of that movement.

Biles recapped her trip to South America in a gratitude-filled upload to social media.

“Going home with a full heart,” she detailed. “Thank you Argentina for a warm welcome to your country, I truly felt like family during my visit! thanks for sharing all of the malbecs, empanadas, mate & dulce de leche with me!! see you later!”

Mayor Macri left an equally gracious comment, writing, “Simone, having you here was truly a pleasure. Thank you for sharing your talent, joy, and energy with all of us, especially our young people, who were deeply moved and inspired by seeing you. It was an honor to give you a glimpse of our beautiful city and to share that special time with you. You will always have a place here, and we hope to see you again very soon!”
