Who Is Anthony Ricco? An Explainer Of Diddy’s Former Lawyer

Anthony L. Ricco abruptly announced to the world on Thursday (Feb. 20) that he could no longer persist on as one of Diddy‘s attorneys. The longtime lawyer issued a legal filing in New York vaguely detailing the reason for his decision, without spilling too much information on the matter.
“Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs. There are sufficient reasons (related to the protections afforded by the attorney/client privilege) for brevity in my application for withdrawal as counsel in this case,” Ricco stated, per the Daily Mail.
The mysterious announcement set the internet on fire on Friday (Feb. 21), with many online users wondering what could have gone wrong with Sean Combs’ already eye-raising sex trafficking and sexual assault case. While details regarding what led to Ricco’s decision are scarce at the moment, people have begun asking who the legal mind is and why Diddy enlisted his help to potentially score his freedom.
