Wendy Williams Enjoys Lunch With Son After Claiming He Financially Took Advantage Of Her

Wendy Williams was seen in Miami enjoying a reunion with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., despite her recent public accusations that he financially exploited her.

The pair was seen having lunch at Cuban restaurant Matilda’s Kitchen with family and friends, where Williams seemed to be in high spirits. The reunion came after a judge granted the 60-year-old permission to visit her father for his birthday weekend, giving her the opportunity to spend time with her son as well.

The footage, shared by Kevin’s friend Ronald, came as he also vouched for Kevin’s character. “Kevin’s a good dude and the truth would prevail,” he stated.

The coveted media mogul‘s moment of joy comes after jarring allegations she made regarding her finances.

In her recent documentary, TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy, Williams opened up about the mishandling of her money and the events that led to her being placed under guardianship. She revealed that Wells Fargo flagged several unauthorized withdrawals from her account, leading her to believe that her son, along with others, was behind them.

Williams described her son’s actions as “overstepping boundaries,” accusing him of using her money without her consent. “My son, he overstepped his boundaries in terms of me,” she said in the doc. “He overstepped his boundaries and he was inappropriately using my money without telling me crap about it. Is he stealing from me?”

Wendy’s concerns about her son’s financial behavior were serious enough that the court took action, with documents from last September stating that the court was not convinced Kevin could keep her safe from potential exploitation. Despite these allegations, Wendy still expressed that her son has a good heart, even though his actions have hurt her.

“My son is a really good person,” she emotionally explained. “Look, my son is a good person. But at this point, he is a horrible person to me. The way he moves with other people, and what’s going on with these other people in my apartment in Miami… It’s about my money. It’s about holding my money and using it for other people and nothing for me.”

The documentary also highlights Williams’ time in an assisted living facility, which she described as feeling like a prison. “I want my life back. I want my freedom back,” she shared, expressing her desire to regain control of her life and finances.

In a recent podcast appearance, the former TV host admitted she was looking forward to seeing Kevin, despite their estranged relationship. The reunion in Miami seems to show that while their issues over financial matters remain, she is still trying to keep a connection with her son.
