Waka Flocka To Appear At Donald Trump’s Black Conservative Federation Ball, Sparks Backlash
Waka Flocka is catching heat online after being announced as a special guest at the Black Conservative Federation’s upcoming Legacy of Freedom Ball—an event honoring Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance.
Set to take place on Jan. 19 during the President-elect’s inauguration weekend in Washington, D.C., the ball will have a star-studded lineup that’s already causing conversation.
The Black Conservative Federation, which calls itself “the premier hub for Black conservatives,” shared the event flyer showing Waka, Fivio Foreign, and fellow Trump supporter Antonio Brown. Other notable guests include conservative YouTubers The Cartier Family and Anton Daniels.
Once activist, Deray Mckesson, posted the flyer on X labeling the event “embarrassing,” social media chimed in.
Comments ranged from “A Who’s Who of ‘WHO?!’” to accusations of pandering: “a gathering of white supremacy bootlickers.” One user poked fun at Waka’s involvement, writing, “Waka Flocka, as a celebrity guest to ANYTHING, is hilariously wild to me,” as another expressed surprise at Fivio Foreign’s appearance: “Did not expect Fivio Foreign to be there, but here we are.”
Critics also speculated that the motivation behind the guest appearances is financial gain. “Some people will do anything for money,” a user wrote.
Waka Flocka has been a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and even joined the former president and president-to-be on the campaign trail. In November, the “Hard In The Paint” rapper faced backlash after organizers canceled one of his events due to his political stance. The Atlanta rapper responded with an online rant, claiming his First Amendment rights were violated—though he appeared to misunderstand the concept of “free speech.”
“Imagine living in a country that was built on free speech to ultimately find out free speech is only given to those who dont go against the system… alot of ppl need to wake up,” he wrote back in November 2024. “yall being used for a bigger agenda… free speech is free speech… my decision for who I vote for is my decision… yall talking bout freedoms?”
He added, “One of my meet and greet events in DC was canceled today because of some people’s opinion… because they harassed a liquor store until they cancelled the sh*t… then they spin it like I did something wrong for having an opinion… thats freedom?”
