Victoria Monét Cancels Several Upcoming Shows Over “Ongoing Health Issues”
Victoria Monét has confirmed that she’s cancelling three of her upcoming festival performances due to “ongoing health issues.”
The Grammy winner took to Instagram on Monday (May 20) with the unfortunate update.
“I am gutted to share that I will no longer be able to perform at Governors Ball (NYC), Roots Picnic (Philadelphia), or Blavity (Nashville) this June. I am so sorry!! [broken heart emoji] Candidly, I have been dealing with some ongoing health issues that have to be addressed right now, but I will be back out there soon, that’s a promise!,” said Monét.
She concluded that post by noting that it wasn’t “an easy call, but it’s definitely for the best.” All other shows beyond June are set to proceed as scheduled.
She was previously set to perform at the Roots Picnic at the top of June, followed by Gov Ball on June 9, and then at the inaugural Blavity House Party on June 15.
Hours after the announcement, Roots Picnic stated that they’re “working hard to find a replacement at this late date” with fans suggesting in the comments that they ask Kehlani, Ari Lennox, or Jazmine Sullivan.
Meanwhile, Blavity House Party producers penned a sentimental message to the JAGUAR II singer in their Instagram stories. It read, “The BHP team is wishing you well and praying for your healing. Self-care is key.” They haven’t mentioned if they intend to replace Monét.
As of now, she’s still set to perform at Broccoli City Fest in Washington D.C. on July 27, Lollapalooza in Chicago on Aug 1, and at Outside Lands in San Francisco on Aug 9.
