Teacher Turns Classroom Into Chris Brown-Themed “Lounge,” Sparks Mixed Reactions

Teachers and students often have opportunities to bond over shared interests, such as pop culture, familial backgrounds, and more. One high school teacher decided to display her love for Chris Brown by transforming her classroom into a Breezy-themed lounge for her students. A video of the room went viral on X over the weekend, and it sparked mixed reactions from fans, critics, and more.

The classroom makeover featured dim purple and pink LED lighting, string lights hung up across the ceiling, and photos of all 11 of his album covers printed and framed along the walls. There was also an area with a “VIP Lounge” neon sign and a “Breezy Board” to hang up papers. Based on a caption within the clip, the teacher, Ms. Legette, named the room “Legette’s Lit Lounge.”

The repost of the TikTok caught traction on X and the top comment read, “I would never leave class,” while another person praised Legette’s efforts, adding, “She sounds like a very fun teacher and I’m pretty sure her students loved her for doing this. It was more than likely a idea that was brought up to the students and they probably agreed to doing it and now they coming to school they’re gonna go absolutely insane at least this teacher cares about her students to make their day fun.”

However, a significant amount of people critiqued whether or not the room makeover was appropriate for a school setting. “Okay she’s a weirdo,” one of the top-liked replies read as another person wrote, “This would be awesome if it were a better person than Chris Brown.”

There were a few fellow teachers who chimed in, with one person responding with a neutral stance but posing a question about how the decisions align with a learning environment: “I’m a teacher. Chris Brown aside, he’s cool, no problems there. I just wonder how this theme drives the curriculum or is aligned with the standards.”

Another teacher added, “As a former teacher and DANCE teacher at that, I wouldn’t have done my classroom like this lol. It’s very pretty, but in that same breath……. it’s very….. cringe ?‍♂️ I’m sorry!”

The user who reposted the video to X also made a clarification, adding, “FYI she is a high school teacher, this is a high school classroom. This is not little children lol so those kids definitely listen to Chris brown! K. Bye!”

The “With You” singer is currently busy out on the road for the American leg of his Breezy Bowl Tour. The trek made its way around Europe for a majority of this summer, kicking off in Amsterdam on June 8 and hitting cities like Manchester, Dublin, London and more. He’s back in the states and started his Summer Walker and Bryson Tiller-assisted run in Florida on July 30, and is set to deliver shows in Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and more before the finale in Las Vegas on Sept. 20.
