Suge Knight Gives Unexpected Take On Diddy’s Possible Fate In Sex Trafficking Trial

Suge Knight has given his take on the ongoing federal sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs and the possible fate of the disgraced Hip-Hop mogul. While many would expect Knight to keep that same decades-long energy against his longtime industry rival, the former Death Row Records CEO shocked many by publicly siding with Diddy.
During a recent call-in with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation’s CUOMO show, Knight made it clear that although he may not “rock” with Diddy personally, he doesn’t believe the Bad Boy co-founder should be behind bars. As we know, Suge Knight and Diddy are two of Hip-Hop’s most polarizing figures, whose names are often tied to the East Coast vs. West Coast beef of the ’90s — which led to the deaths of Tupac and Biggie.
“Puffy and I are not friends,” he explained to Cuomo. “But Puffy should definitely walk free.” According to Knight, who is currently serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, Diddy’s not the only one who should be in the legal hot seat. “The most important thing is that it was other executives that were involved in Puffy’s life,” he added. “For Puffy to be the only guy that gets on the stand is a sad day for Hip-Hop.”

The 60-year-old also spoke on the recent testimony given by Diddy’s former assistant, Capricorn Clark. The West Coast icon claimed to have first heard of Clark from someone working security for Death Row at the time, who alleged she was involved in disturbing incidents with others in the music industry. He suggested that Clark was once silenced by a financial settlement from Jimmy [Iovine] after an alleged incident between her and Diddy. He implied that her testimony, in his opinion, lacked credibility.
“I don’t know if the part that she was so scared of Puffy [is true],” he recalled, while referencing a night out on the town in New York with Clark and another woman. According to Knight, her demeanor didn’t line up with someone who was allegedly fearful or traumatized by her past association with Diddy. He insinuated that her testimony might be more complex than it seems, casting doubt on the narrative that she was intimidated into silence.

Diddy is currently facing one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in NYC on Sept. 16, 2024, and has been held at MDC Brooklyn without bail since then.
If convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison. His trial is expected to last several weeks.
