Suge Knight Breaks Silence On Diddy’s Alleged Gun Confrontation Mentioned In Trial

Many events from the past are being expound upon during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ current sex trafficking trial, including his alleged run-in with Suge Knight 17 years ago. The former Death Row Records label head broke his silence about the allegations and clarified his perspective of the night.

During Cassie Ventura’s testimony on May 13, she spoke about how Diddy allegedly stopped a “freak-off” so he could go and confront Knight after he was spotted buy his crew. She testified she was “screaming and crying” out of fear of what Diddy was planning to do, as the Bad Boy founder allegedly grabbed multiple guns and went to go find his target. The following week, Diddy’s former assistant, David James, also spoke about the 2008 event, saying it “shook” him so much that it led him to quit.

Knight, who is currently in prison for an unrelated crime, spoke to TMZ on Thursday (May 22) about the incident. When asked if they had “serious beef” to the point where Diddy would have actually used the guns, Knight responded via phone, “If he’d have confronted me and he had a gun, you best believe he was gonna have to use it, or something was gonna happen.”

“When you’re dealing with drugs and alcohol and even fear, some people if they feel they’re scared enough, they gotta do something. They can’t do it with their hands, so they gotta bring guns… If you got the serial number changed off, you best believe you’re going to use them,” he continued.

The reporter asked Knight if he was armed that night in 2008, and he responded with a laugh, “I was armed with my Bible. In other words, you know I’m not gonna answer that question.”

Witnesses who have taken the stand so far include Cassie and her mother, former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard, hotel security guard Israel Florez, multiple sex workers who worked for Diddy, special agent Gerard Gannon, clinical psychologist Dawn Hughes, and others. The most recent high-profile witness to speak at the trial is Kid Cudi, who testified about his experience dating Cassie in 2011, his car being set on fire during that time, and the aftermath.

Diddy faces one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in NYC on Sept. 16, 2024, and was held at MDC Brooklyn without bail. If convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison.
