Snoop Dogg Reacts To 21 Savage Reimagining His Throwback Hairstyle

21 Savage debuted a new hairstyle this week, and it looked quite familiar due to Snoop Dogg popularizing it in the ’90s. The 53-year-old rapper reacted to the act of homage, giving 21 his stamp of approval.
The Atlanta rapper, who had been sporting braids for some time, shared a photo of himself in the bathroom with his hair fully blown out. “Thinking about going throwback snoop on you female dogs,” he wrote in the caption. Uncle Snoop caught wind of the new look and shared his reaction in a repost.
“My dogg,” he wrote in the caption. His post included a graphic featuring Savage and his caption, a screenshot of his actual post, and an old school picture of the Long Beach, Calif. rapper when he had it. The blowout was prominent in his Doggystyle era, which came out in 1993. Check out Snoop showing love below.
Musically, both rappers have been mostly quiet in 2025. 21 Savage appeared on Lil Baby’s WHAM and Central Cee’s Can’t Rush Greatness but hasn’t put out any singles in quite some time. His last album, American Dream, was the first major release of 2024; it debuted at No. 1 and sold 133,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. The LP featured Young Thug, Metro Boomin, Doja Cat, Travis Scott, Lil Durk, and more.
Snoop Dogg, on the other hand, released his latest album, Missionary, in December 2024. The LP, made in collaboration with Dr. Dre, featured Method Man, 50 Cent, Eminem, Jhené Aiko, BJ The Chicago Kid, and more. Missionary marked his third project in three years, following 2022’s back-to-back of Gangsta Grillz: I Still Got It and SNOOP CUBE 40 $HORT with his Mount Westmore comrades Ice Cube, E-40, and Too $hort.
