Snoop Dogg Disses Spotify, Announces New Tune.FM Partnership

Snoop Dogg has choice words regarding Spotify as he announces a new partnership. Exclusively reported by Billboard, the West Coast rapper has officially joined Tune.FM as the face of the Web3 music streaming platform. The veteran Hip-Hop artist has plans to transfer more of his catalog, including his Death Row Records material, to the new platform.

“I don’t f**k with Spotify anymore,” declared the 53-year-old to the outlet. “I’m only on Tune.FM.”

According to Billboard, Tune.FM is a decentralized Web3 streaming platform focusing on transparency, security, and fairness for artists through blockchain technology. It claims to provide instant micropayments per second streamed. Once signed up, a JAM wallet is automatically created for users, allowing them to spend JAM tokens on streaming, tipping artists, and unlocking exclusive content.

Additionally, Tune.FM detailed its AI-driven discovery algorithm promotes independent artists organically, bypassing paid placements, providing artists the opportunity to tokenize music rights, and allowing fans to invest and earn royalties. The Doggystyle rapper was sold on the idea after meeting Tune.FM founder/CEO Andrew Antar at the Crypto Ball prior to President Trump’s inauguration in January.

“We are thrilled to welcome Snoop Dogg as the face of Tune.FM,” relayed Antar. “Snoop is the OG pioneer who is always on the cutting edge of technology and new ways of doing business. He totally gets it, and we are ready to take on the world together.”

Amid Snoop Dogg’s new venture, Spotify has responded to claims that he only earned $45,000 from one billion streams on the music platform. According to Complex, in 2023, the “Gin And Juice” performer appeared on the Business Untitled podcast where he made the assertion.

In a statement to TMZ, a Spotify spokesperson detailed, “We can’t speak to endorsement deals for Web3 companies but… $45K for a billion streams? It’s well documented that a billion streams on Spotify generates millions of dollars to rights holders. It’s unfortunate to hear that Spotify’s payments didn’t make it through to Snoop.”

The statement continued, “Snoop’s a legend and, hopefully now that he owns Death Row Records, he’s seeing more of that money.”
