Shari Bryant Leaves Post At Roc Nation
Shari Bryant has left her post as President of Roc Nation. This is fresh off the heels of news surrounding the merger of Equity Distribution together with Roc Nation’s music distro wing.
Per Billboard, “Established in 2019, Equity Distribution works with independent artists who wish to retain ownership of their masters. Under the leadership of president Krystian Santini, Equity offers a range of services including in-house marketing and publishing administration. Notably, they have worked with independent artists like Mach-Hommy and Tinashe and brought Jay-Z‘s 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt, to streaming services in 2019.”
All artists currently signed to Roc Nation will gravitate to the distribution arm of the label.
Bryant posted to her Instagram page today, a goodbye of sorts with a host of comments.
“From where it started (sitting in my cubicle @ RocAFella Records), to now ending my 5 year tenure as Co-President of RocNation Label. It’s bitter sweet, but as I often say, you have to Do It Scared. Onward and upward, and as always…More To Come,” she wrote.
Bryant didn’t say where she’d be going, and there’s no word as to who would be replacing her – though it seems as if her position may become obsolete as a result of the merger.
Rapper Rapsody left a comment under Bryant’s post saying, “So blessed to have been a part of this era with you! My heart! I’m so excited for what’s next and still championing you and creating together! Big Shari! Never the lil one!”
There will be more to come on Bryant’s career, and the merger as it develops.
