Sada Baby Arrested For Alleged Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Unserious Mug Shot Goes Viral

Sada Baby has been arrested after a traffic stop snowballed into more. The rapper was pulled over by Sterling Heights police back in January and after running his plates, officers discovered he had a outstanding warrants.

According to Fox 2 Detroit, Sada, born Casada Sorrell, was “charged in June 2023 with driving while unlicensed for three years, and a warrant request was filed in October 2023. Once police confirmed the driver was Sorrell, he was arrested for the outstanding warrant.”

During the aforementioned stop, police said he was also in possession of “possible illegal contraband.” After the substance was tested, the results confirmed that it was narcotics, and he was arrested Tuesday (April 8) in Shelby Township. He has been behind bars at Macomb County Jail in Michigan since and is facing a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in an amount less than 25 grams.

The “Whole Lotta Choppas” spitter went viral after the booking process resulted in an epic mugshot. In the photo, Sada is dressed in an orange jail uniform while his expression consists of wide eyes and a stiff grin. See above.

The flick quickly made its rounds on the internet, with one X user writing, “Sada’s mugshot just sent me to mars, i’m crying laughing” and another adding, “LMFAO sada baby mugshot is frying me wtf is wrong with him.” One other fan pointed out how recently Sada had been active online, claiming, “Sada Baby went to jail on stream last night & his sh*t still running smh free the guy.”

The timing of the arrest is unfortunately close to the release of his latest project, Bridge Kard Blessings, which made landfall on March 28. The 14-track body of work included guest appearances from Lakeyah, JMSN, and Skilla Baby. Of the project, the Detroit native expressed that it signaled a new chapter in his career, writing, “This tape means more than just the normal gettin a chance to put some music out.”

He continued, “It’s a new area in my career where every mixtape and single I release that’s not on this cd will be the first body of music I drop independently since #Stacy On my daddy we gone have a lot of fun. Got bout 4300 unreleased.”
