RHOA’s Shamea Morton Apologizes To Cast Amid Reunion Backlash

Shamea Morton, one of the newest Real Housewives Of Atlanta cast members, took to YouTube on Sunday (July 27) in an effort to clear the air following the heated season 16 reunion.

In a video titled “Dear Sweet 16…,” referencing the reality show’s recent season, Morton spoke for 41 minutes about her behavior throughout the season including the intense three-part reunion.

To tune of Monica’s “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One Of Dem Days),” she sang in a freestyle, “I wanna take some time out to talk about reunion. ‘Cause apparently I didn’t say all the s**t that was brewing. Well y’all, I really wanna keep it cute for the whole way through. See these b**ches making me feel angry inside through and through as I sing this tune to you, I’m so freakin’ confused. I just want us to be honest for once because the receipts don’t lie […] These b**ches been known to lie; don’t take it personal.”

When getting more serious, Morton continued, “If I ever offended you, if I’ve made you feel less than, inferior, insulted you, hurt you in any way — I’m sorry. I hope that we can start fresh, and I wish you nothing but the best. And that prayer, I hope it leaves this room and enters into your heart and into your household, and that’s a wrap on Season 16.”

After the video dropped, Kandi Burruss came forward via Amazon Live to offer Morton a word of advice.

“When you fall out on TV, they gonna make you keep bringing it back up,” said the famed singer-songwriter. “Everybody gets to have an opinion. It’s got to go viral. It’s about to be a mess. Going into the next season, she just needs to address how she feels and be fully transparent.” Burruss’ statement debunked rumors that Season 16 of RHOA would be Morton’s first and last.

Throughout the season, Morton got into with most of the cast. Things escalated at the reunion with Porsha Williams causing host Andy Cohen to urge Morton to express herself in a more productive manner.
