Ray J Seen Ready To Turn Up In Footage Of Security Allegedly Blocking Entrance To BET Awards
The 2024 BET Awards was a great night for most in attendance, but apparently turned into quite the fiasco for Ray J, as the singer was allegedly denied re-entrance to the show after exiting.
Ray first referenced the moment in a concerning social media post where he spoke of having suicidal thoughts and claimed he wasn’t allowed back into the BET Awards after stepping out.
“The sh*t that happened tonight to me at the awards today was hurtful. I’m working backstage and then I go take a break in the back and BET wouldn’t let me back in for some reason. I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see. It was weird,” he shared.
TMZ has since obtained footage of the moment, where it appears Ray is attempting to enter the building, but is being told he cannot. He then reconvenes with his team before explaining the situation to the onlooker recording. “They didn’t let me in the BET awards…I go out to take a break, and they won’t let be back in.”
An increasingly irritated Ray was later seen with his shirt off threatening to get “ghetto” if not admitted. “I ain’t bring the ghetto to BET yet, but I’m ’bout to!” Check it out below.
Sources as TMZ claim that BET hired the “One Wish” singer to host 3 events throughout BET weekend, including a backstage access show. While Ray filmed backstage for BET Digital, he reportedly kept exiting and re-entering the building without his credentials, including at times with BET Executives. He reportedly did so 15 times before a security guard took issue with the Tronix Network founder not having his credentials, and refused to let him back in about one hour before the show wrapped.
Ray J, according to sources, believes race could’ve been a factor, as the security guard who allegedly blocked his re-entrance was white.
Later in the evening, the singer nearly got into a scuffle with Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer. Following the melee, he took to social media to vent over a series of unfortunate events he’s experienced as of late.
“I’m really at a breakin point! To provide for my family and have generational wealth was always the plan. But money is evil and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore. These chain of reactions are stemming from being locked in a false reality / confused by this whole life!”
He continued, “The sh*t that is happening is mind blowing. It’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality.”
