Offset Admits He Wasn’t Blindsided By Cardi B’s “Outside”

Offset has revealed his reaction to Cardi B‘s single, “Outside,” and it’s not as shocking as one might suspect.
During his recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, the former Migos frontman explained, “I actually [knew] about the song before the song came out— prior to the bulls**t that was happening.”
He continued, “It’s just— everything be a timing thing. That record been done. I knew about the record. I know it. It’s been done. It ain’t look like how it looked.” He agreed that even if “Outside” was made when he was on good terms with Cardi, it hit differently once it dropped and their divorce was finalized.
“When I tell you these n***as ain’t s**t, please believe me (Let’s go)/ They gon’ f**k on anything, these n***as way too easy (Facts)/ Good-for-nothing, low-down dirty dogs, I’m convinced (Yeah)/ Next time you see your mama, tell her how she raised a b***h,” Cardi rapped on the pre-chorus.
Despite the lyrical intensity, Offset is fine with the aftermath of it all. “S**t, all eyes on me. Tupac. Check the streams,” he joked. He released “Bodies” with JID the same day as “Outside” and currently, his record has at least one million more streams than that of his ex. However, “Outside” debuted with higher stats during the first week of its release.
“Bodies” will appear on Offset’s third solo album, KIARI, out on Aug. 22.

With Joe Budden and his co-hosts, Offset said the album is like “therapy.” He won’t be “taking shots” at anyone, but he does plan on speaking about “life situations.” He explained, “It’s too much involved. My family, kids [to make a diss track]. Like that s**t gonna be lame 10 years from now, but I’m expressing some feelings.”
Described as his “most personal body of work yet,” the album will include features from Gunna, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, John Legend, Ty Dolla $ign, Key Glock, YFN Lucci, and Teezo Touchdown.
