'No Limit' by Josh Hunter ft. Mila Falls from Stashed Records – FUXWITHIT
Josh Hunter ft. Mila Falls, ‘No Limit’, is another big house banger released with S.K.T.’s, Stashed Records.
After their last two collaborations, the pair is back for more. Lending her voice and words to the track, Mila Falls weaves in raw emotion into her lyrics and Hunter paints a milieu of big house sound that makes for one epic track. Starting off with a sultry rhythm, Hunter puts meat on the bones with fun snares and a bouncy bassline. The anticipation builds with fluttering synths and dramatic pauses in the background ambience. As Falls starts to croon over the playful vibes her voice comes in clear and caresses each word. There is definitely a feeling of a shimmery summer and idyllic, party vibe; something I think we can agree we all need just a little bit more of during this time when live music and summer fun seem far away. Listening to this, you can imagine, in the Before Times, being at a festival, bass booming, sun shining, and everyone dancing around you. Or, for a more contemporary anology, you can imagine cruising in the car, windows down, blasting ‘No Limit’ while holding your boo’s hand, and imagining that there really is no limit to the feeling they give you.
Hunter shows off his production skills in the breakdown, tightening the tension with sudden shifts in the soundscape and using the decomposition of the track precisely, keeping in time and punctuating the journey with the vocals. Technically speaking ‘No Limit’ is a tight track that isn’t overly neat with its production which allows for the more emotive and sincere emotions to be conveyed. Its an instant classic house jam that seems both timeless and futuristic with its edgy synth samples and theatrical flare.
