Nicki Minaj Claims Drake Asked Her To Be On “Rich Baby Daddy” Before SZA

Nicki Minaj has responded to SZA‘s attempt to defend herself amid their online back-and-forth this week, with the Queens rapper claiming her Young Money comrade Drake asked her to be on his Sexyy Red-assisted single “Rich Baby Daddy” before SZA.

“I wonder if she know I turned down being on the ‘shake dat a** for drake’ song,” Minaj, 42, posted on X Thursday (July 18). “He wanted me & sexy on it. I still have the version of just drake & sexy. I said I want to wait for pf2 for me & him to do a dricki song so it felt more special. And now that silly goose still out here shaking dat a** for drake every day. After swallowing his balls. Allegedly. Oh Mza give it up.”

SZA currently performs “Rich Baby Daddy” on her Grand National tour, co-headlined by Kendrick Lamar. Drake also revealed on “Mr. Right Now” that he and SZA previously dated, with her later clarifying that they briefly dated in 2009.

Minaj went on to claim that she and Beyoncé playfully argued over who would sing a lyric SZA wrote on their 2014 collaboration “Feeling Myself.”

“I remember me & Beyonce was going back & forth on the phone about that part of the song. Bey was like you sing it, I was like NOOOOO you sing it, she was like noooooo you sing it, I was like PLEASE!!!!! I can’t sing!..none of us wanted to sing those sh*t lyrics. This was in response to SZA telling the rapper not to downplay her artistry, as Minaj was, “rapping my lyrics on feeling myself ‘Cooking up the bass looking like a kilo’?” SZA also claimed, in response to Minaj’s initial hours-long rant, that Minaj asked her for two features to no response.

The exchange follows Minaj and SZA going back-and-forth this week over what Nicki believed to be a subliminal shot aimed at her on X after she took TDE’s Punch to task for alleged bullying.
