Ms. Lauryn Hill, Tyla, Tanner Adell, And More Added To Performance Slate For 2024 BET Awards
More performers have been added to the 2024 BET Awards lineup.
As announced on Thursday (June 13), BET revealed that Ms. Lauryn Hill, YG Marley, Ice Spice, and Tyla will perform during Culture’s Biggest Night. Rising country phenom Tanner Adell will perform on the BET Amplified stage.
They will join previously announced performers such as Victoria Monét, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Shaboozey, and Latto.
Taraji P. Henson is set to return as host of the show for a third year, and Usher will receive the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award. Performers for his tribute have not been announced yet, but we vote for the likes of DIXSON, Lucky Daye, Eric Bellinger, Vedo, and Josh Levi.
The theme for the 2024 BET Awards is Standing On Culture. The official kickoff takes place on June 28 with the 2024 BET Experience. Over the two-day affair, Queen Latifah, Cardi B, Davido, Gunna, Sexyy Red, The Roots, Common, Jungle Brothers, and more are set to perform as attendees enjoy experiential moments like comedy shows and a roller-skating rink curated by DJ Mustard.
As far as nominees are concerned, Drake leads the pack with seven nods, with Nicki Minaj following right behind with six nods herself. Meanwhile, J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, and Victoria Monét all tie with five each.
The BET Awards is “the ultimate platform to showcase the best, brightest, and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience — honoring the present and future of Black music, creativity, and sportsmanship, by celebrating the culture and being a driving force for social change.”
This year’s show airs live on Sunday, June 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET.
