Method Man Accused Of Assault At Staten Island Gym

Method Man has been accused of assaulting a fellow gymgoer at Crunch Fitness in Staten Island. The alleged victim is someone with whom he has history.

Local law enforcement sources broke the news to New York Post on Thursday (Jan. 16), the same day the altercation happened. The Wu-Tang Clan member reportedly punched a man in the face seven times “with a closed fist.” His alleged victim is a man who allegedly had a relationship with his daughter over ten years ago.

The alleged victim, 28, complained of pain in his face and feeling dizzy, but refused medical attention while on the fitness center’s premises. Meth was reportedly not arrested, but a report has been filed with the New York Police Department.

Last year, Method Man opened up about his struggles with depression. “It never really goes away,” he told Fat Joe on Fat Joe Talks. “You have, like I said, I have bouts with it and things.” He emphasized the importance of checking in with loved ones based on his own experiences, but also to gain awareness of what people may not be sharing.

“The point I’m trying to make is every now and then when you get a thought like, ‘Damn, I wonder what this person’s doing,’ act on it,” he added. “Call them, see how they doing or find some way to get in contact with them. It never hurts. You have no idea how much that could mean to them.”

The “Bring The Pain” rapper also revealed that he was working on a memoir, which will potentially named after the 1994 song. “It might be [titled], ‘Bring The Pain,’ because there’s a lot of that,” he said. Watch a snippet of his conversation with Fat Joe about mental health and more below.
