Meek Mill Says He And Name-Calling Social Media User Should “Compare Lives”

If someone were to rank the rappers who are constantly the butt of a joke on X (formerly Twitter), Meek Mill would be high on that list. This past weekend, he fired back at a user who called him “slow” by suggesting they “compare lives.”
On Sunday (March 2), the 37-year-old rapper shared a photo of himself wearing a hoodie at the REFORM Alliance conference while other attendees wore suits. “100 suits, nobody will ever notice that I wear hoodies to most speaking engagements on purpose so they can see me as a black man from the streets!” he wrote in the caption. “Rip to Trayvon martin!”
His message was salient, but the Dreamchasers artist often gets joked on for anything he says simply because of who he is. One user quoted his post and wrote, “This ni**a a special kind of slow,” and Meek seemingly had enough. “I have millions in my bank account,” he replied. “[R]espected by the streets and the wealthy … with over 30m raised to fight the system with reform… all houses owned from my gmom and mom… and I look out for my community … let’s compare lives right here in front of the world lol.”
Meek Mill being the butt of jokes negatively impacted his child’s life last year. When Diddy faced a sexual assault lawsuit from Lil Rod that included details hinting at the “Ima Boss” rapper allegedly being sexually involved with him, Meek was called “Freak Mill” on social media, and his son even dealt with jokes about his father allegedly being gay. Outside of such harmful allegations, there are countless examples of the Philadelphia rapper being bombarded with insults after asking simple questions worth Googling.
One positive thing that has been highlighted about Meek is his guest appearance on Fridayy’s song “Proud Of Me” from his new album Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not. “I got everything, but I just really wanna hold hands with my old man/ On wedding day while we slow dance,” he rapped.
“But ain’t no love, shot him in his heart, ain’t have no chance/ So I can’t sleep, ‘somniac, bullet holes out the Pontiac/ Swear to God, I’d trade in all these riches to get Robbie back/ Swear to God, I’d trade in all these foreigns to get Terry back/ I’m hangin’ out with my daddy, lost his life, and I’m aware of that.”
