Masika Kalysha Accuses Brittany Renner Of “Playing” With Islam After Removing Hijab, She Responds

Masika Kalysha and Brittany Renner have exchanged jabs on social media following Kalysha calling out Renner for what she sees as the Basketball Wives LA star “playing” with her faith in Islam.

The former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star made the claim while discussing Jackie and Chantel Christie’s recent BBWLA fight, adding in a follow-up post, “Since we’re on the topic… the way Britney played with them peoples religion to become that man’s other wife is crazy. He took off and she took off them peoples clothes.”

Renner converted to Islam in August 2024, announcing it to the public in January 2025, per Complex. However, she removed her Hijab in June following her split from rapper Kevin Gates, who is a practicing Muslim.

In response to Kalysha’s shade, Renner brought up her fellow reality star’s own public drama, including Masika being rapper Fetty Wap’s third “baby mama,” and allegedly faking a kidnapping.

“Says BM #3 who faked a kidnapping to promote their irrelevant OF. Since we’re on the topic…religion is not exclusive, I never signed up to be one of several, ppl are allowed to change their minds, & plenty of relationships are meant to be but not meant to last. Bye 40 and fried!”

Kalysha replied saying that the “kidnapping” incident was connected to a television show she was filming about sex trafficking, adding, “It’s crazy bc I was defending your disgraceful ssa when ppl KNEW u was fakin religion 4 D*CK.”

She then added in a follow-up post, “Girl go to hell! Oh wait… EVERYBODY speaking the SAME TRUTH about u. But u mad at me? lol bringing up irrelevant deflections don’t change The fact that YOU PLAYED WITH GOD FOR D*CK! Next week u gonna be Buddhist for back shots? Christian for Christian Dior? Girl stfu & go pray.”

After removing her hijab, Renner took to Instagram to quiet her followers who took issue with the decision, sharing a clip of herself rocking her natural hair captioned, “don’t have blind loyalty to any person, place, or thing. I also don’t need excuses to do what I want to do because I accept whatever comes behind my decisions. It’s still Alhamdulillah for everything! Hope this helps.”

She followed that up with a post captioned, “I don’t ask for permission or forgiveness, nor am I in the business of convincing,” which many took as her response to those who believe she abandoned her faith due to a breakup. Check it out below.
