Mariah Carey Brings Her Rainbow To Brighton For 2025 Pride In The Park

Mariah Carey finally took the stage at Brighton Pride 2025 — five years after she was originally scheduled to appear, per The Guardian. The delay was due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dressed in a mini metallic dress that resembled the colors from the transgender flag, the embellished, cropped pink bomber jacket that completed her first look had the message “Protect The Dolls” embroidered on the back.

Reports confirmed that the illustrious songbird and LGBTQ+ ally kicked off her set with her latest single, “Type Dangerous,” off her forthcoming album, Here For It All. She then transported fans back to 1991 with “Emotions” and “Make It Happen.” Attitude described the medley as a “magnificent gospel moment.” She followed that run with “I’ll Be There,” “Vision of Love,” and “Dreamlover” with critics confirming that her whistle register is still a showstopper.
Carey had at least two outfit changes and kept the crown entertained with a “Heartbreaker“/”Honey” mashup as well as hits across her catalog including “Beautiful,” “Obsessed,” “Touch My Body,” “We Belong Together,” and even “Fly Like A Bird.” BBC reported that some fans donned holiday attire in hopes of hearing her festive classic, “All I Want Christmas Is You.” However, Carey left that one off the setlist considering for the past few years, she’s reserved it for her holiday tours.

While onstage, she praised her LGBTQIA+ fans. “Both as a community and as individuals have been here for me for so long, supporting me through good times and bad, and I just want you to know that I’ll always, always be there for you,” she expressed.
Carey reiterated that sentiment on Instagram following the show. “Thank you so much @brightonprideofficial for having me tonight! A special heartfelt thank you to the LGBTQ+ community for your ongoing support. I will always be there for you. Love, MC,” she wrote.
