Kodak Black Drug Possession, Evidence Tampering Case Dismissed

Kodak Black has been granted a legal victory. According to TMZ, a judge dismissed Black’s evidence tampering and drug possession charges. The Florida rapper’s attorney issued a statement regarding the decision. “The court recognized the valid arguments that were made to dismiss the last remaining count of this wrongful arrest. We are happy to see the case resolved and Kodak continue to be successful in both the entertainment world and his philanthropic ventures,” it reads.

The charges were in connection to a December 2023 arrest. NBC Miami reported that Kodak was detained for cocaine possession, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and improperly parking or stopping a vehicle. As of Friday (April 19), the only charge remaining is a traffic citation, as the rest of the charges have been dropped.

The rapper, né Bill Kahan Kapri, was recently released from jail on time served. In February, the “ZEZE” artist was freed after serving two months at the Miami Federal Detention Center for a probation violation.

And Kodak hasn’t been the only rapper dealing with the legal system. WBRZ reports that NBA YoungBoy was arrested after allegedly violating his conditional release while living on house arrest. The Louisiana native was detained and booked on Tuesday (April 16).

The rapper was hit with several charges, including forgery, procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

YoungBoy was previously barred from possessing drugs and guns due to the terms of his supervised release. The “Bandit” rapper has had multiple run-ins with the law since he rose to rap prominence. Most of his arrests stemmed from gun charges and drug charges.
