Kid Cudi Expected To Testify In Diddy’s Criminal Trial

Rapper Kid Cudi is expected to take the stand at some point this week in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial, People reports.

Born Scott Mescudi, Cudi dated singer Cassie Ventura briefly in 2011 while things “weren’t in the greatest place” between her and boyfriend Diddy, Cassie testified last week. Combs was made aware of their relationship during a “freak-off” party, causing him to become “irate,” she claimed. “He went through one of my phones and found emails with one of his staffers…I just remember [Combs] putting a wine opener between his fingers and lunging at me.”

She also claimed that he threatened to release freak-off recordings, telling her mother and Puff’s former assistant, Capricorn Clark, about the threats via email in December 2011. “The threats that [Sean Combs] has made of me are that he will release 2 sexually explicit videos: one on xmas day [and one other].”

She added of his reaction, “Sean kicked me in the back, I fell on the floor and then left. I had a large bruise on my back and bruises on other places — he literally kicked me with the bottom of his foot.”

Cassie went on to say that Diddy told her he’d make it so that the “Day ‘n’ Nite” artist’s car exploded. “He mentioned when we were out of the country that Scott’s car would be blown up and he wanted his friends to see it,” she told the court. Like Cassie, Cudi is set to testify for the prosecution.

Combs is charged with five criminal counts: one count of racketeering conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison; and two counts transportation to engage in prostitution, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
