Kamala Harris Labels Donald Trump A Threat, Says He’s “Unfit To Serve”

With less than three weeks until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris got grilled about Donald Trump on Wednesday (Oct. 16) during her sit-down with Fox News.

The conversation with Fox News anchor Bret Baier was a chance for Harris to defend herself on a network that often criticizes her while praising her opponent. It also came after Republicans accused her of only approving interviews with “friendly” outlets.

Harris, though, made it “clear” that she believes Trump is “unfit to serve [a second term],” noting that “he is unstable [and] dangerous.” She continued, “People are exhausted with someone who professes to be a leader who spends full-time demeaning and engaging in personal grievances […] instead of the American people.”

As the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris explained, “You and I both know that he has talked about turning the American military on the American people. He has talked about going after people who are engaged in peaceful protest. He has talked about locking people up because they disagree with him. This is a democracy, and in a democracy the president of the United States in the United States of America, should be willing to be able to handle criticism without saying he’d lock people up for doing it.”

In addition to Harris expressing her concerns how dangerous Trump is as it pertains to the state of America’s democracy, she also shared how her potential presidency would differ from the Biden administration.

“My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency, and like every new president that comes into office, I will bring my life experiences, my professional experiences, and fresh and new ideas,” she told Baier.

Harris further noted her administration would be a complete shift from what she described as Americans being “burdened with the kind of rhetoric coming from Donald Trump that has been designed and implemented to divide our country and have Americans literally point fingers at each other.”

Baier and Harris spent most of their conversation speaking over one another.

However, Brian Fallon, Harris’ campaign communications director, felt that they “definitely achieved what we set out to achieve, in the sense that she was able to reach an audience that has probably been not exposed to the arguments that she’s been making on the trail, and she also got to show her toughness in standing tall against a hostile interviewer.”
