Jonathan Majors Tearfully Recalls Asking Meagan Good’s Dad For Her Hand In Marriage

Jonathan Majors is a married man and he’s still processing this next chapter of his life.
During a Wednesday morning (March 19) appearance on Sherri, the actor couldn’t stop crying tears of joy when thinking about his new wife, Meagan Good. “I said to Meagan yesterday, ‘Today might be the happiest day of my life.’ I love that woman so much,” he gushed.
When sharing details behind the proposal and wedding, Majors confessed to having asked Good’s father for her hand in marriage while in Paris.

“He said, ‘That’s cool,’” Majors comically recalled. “It was a longer conversation [though].”
Majors admitted that “[eloping] was always the plan.” His mother, Terri Anderson-Mays, had never been to one of his screenings, so after telling her the plan, everything else fell into place.
His and Good’s wedding bands were engraved in Hawaii, but he didn’t disclose when.

The couple wed on Tuesday (March 18) in a private ceremony with his mother serving as officiant and hers serving as their sole witness. He accidentally called the veteran actress his wife during an interview with Entertainment Tonight while promoting Magazine Dreams.
After confirming news of their marriage, Majors shared, “She just motivates me so much and she guides me. I guide her. I think Meagan and I do a good job of dealing with each other where we’re at and you don’t know anybody until you’ve been through all the seasons with them.”
An anonymous source also told PEOPLE, “They are very much in love. At Paige Hurd and Royce O’Neale’s engagement party in Studio City this past Saturday, they were smiling and happy. They were both glowing. She was introducing him to everyone as her fiancé.”
Good and Majors announced their engagement back in November while walking the Ebony Power 100 red carpet.
