Joe Budden Calls Drake “A Bi**h” For Taunting DeMar DeRozan At Raptors Game
On the latest episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Budden and his co-hosts went in on Drake for taunting DeMar DeRozan at a recent Sacramento Kings vs. Toronto Raptors game.
“It was the corniest sh*t that I’ve ever seen,” guest Marc Lamont Hill said about Drizzy’s “tough guy” antics. “Let me say this first: Drake’s not wrong for feeling a way. If I think we’re cool and the next thing I know you’re Crip walking in the video that calls me a pedophile, I have a right to feel a way about that. However, at the point that I’m gonna do something about it, I gotta actually do something about it.”
Budden agreed, calling out Drake’s passive aggression. “I’m not mad at [Drake] for feeling a type of way; he should. It’s not about the conflict. It’s about how you handle the conflict. But all that standing at the game, mumbling under his breath, cutting his eyes—that’s weak. You a bi**h. I’m not unpacking anything further.”

Budden’s remarks come after Drizzy was spotted court side at the Kings vs. Raptors game on Nov. 2. While there, the “Family Matters” rapper seemed to have one thing on his mind: taunting his former friend, DeRozan.
During the game, Drake coldly stared down DeRozan, while also throwing shade from the sidelines.
Additionally, in a post-game interview, Drake said, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself.” And after DeRozan missed a three-pointer, Drake mouthed, “F**k outta here, pu**y,” as the Raptors secured a 131-128 win.
The 35-year-old shrugged off Drake’s antics by posting a scene from Friday on his IG Stories—where Smokey gets tough only when Deebo’s back is turned. And to add, in high school, DeRozan was nicknamed “Deebo” for beating a bully up.
Drake and DeRozan’s tension stems from the former Raptors player backing Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Drake diss. The Compton native—whom K. Dot names dropped in the song—showed his loyalty to Kendrick by appearing in the official music video and showing up to the Pop Out concert.
Speaking with The Breakfast Club back in Sept., DeRozan explained what “Not Like Us,” meant to him beyond a friendship with anyone. “I’m from Compton. That’s where my family lives,” he said. “That comes first before anything. Toronto became a second home, but my city comes first.”
DeRozan also made it clear that he has love for both Kendrick and Drake while speaking with the Sacramento Bee in July. He said: “Drake’s still my man, none of it changed. It’s so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it’s music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint and they battled it out.”
Of being a cameo in the “Not Like Us” visual, he added: “It was fun to be a part of. For that moment, it was so much bigger than what people look at it as a beef between (Lamar) and Drake. It brought our whole city together in a different type of light where there wasn’t no issues, no violence. Everybody was coming together in a peaceful manner and that was the beauty out of those moments.”
DeRozan also asserted that his relationship with Lamar is special. Calling the fellow Comptonian “basically family,” he said that they’ll do anything for each other. “When he did the song, he asked me to be a part of it,” he recounted. “Whatever it is he’s doing, I’m going to be a part of it without a thought. That’s kind of always been our relationship.”
