Jeezy And Jeannie Mai Finalize Divorce With Undisclosed Settlement
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are officially divorced.
The two finalized their divorce on Tuesday (June 11) in Georgia’s Fulton County Superior Court. Jeezy filed for divorce in September 2023 after two and a half years of marriage.
According to Entertainment Tonight, no details regarding the settlement, child support agreement, and permanent parenting plans will be publicized because both parties chose to keep those records sealed.
The court who reviewed the terms of their divorce determined “that the harm resulting to the privacy of the parties and their child, if the documents were made public, clearly outweighs public interest in these specific documents.”
The rapper and the former daytime talk show host were ordered not to “disseminate, distribute, post, nor cause the dissemination, distribution of posting of the Settlement Agreement or Child Support Worksheet to any person or in any manner, including but not limited to any form of media, social media, or the internet.”
When Jeezy filed for divorce, documents suggested that there was “no hope for reconciliation.” He also said the decision to split was not “impulsive.” The couple did have a prenup and at the time, he was seeking joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Monaco.
Since then, Mai claimed that she was physically and emotionally abused by her now ex-husband. Jeezy denied the allegations, noting that they’re “not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved.” In a statement, he described her claim as a “malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family.” The author also expressed his confidence in letting “the truth prevail through the proper legal channels.”
His legal team refuted the accusations in court documents that stated Mai’s abuse claims were conjured up “all because [Jeezy] declined to have a second baby with her.” Neither she nor her attorneys have responded to that comment.
They wed in March 2021 in an intimate ceremony.
