JAY-Z’s Attorney Says Tony Buzbee Tried Coercing Woman Into Lying About Diddy
JAY-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, claimed that Tony Buzbee coerced women into lying about Diddy. TMZ reports that Spiro reported to a judge there may be a chance that Buzbee has been getting potential witnesses, victims, and clients to relay false narratives. Hov’s attorney claims that a woman contacted him and his firm, Quinn Emanuel, on Monday night (Dec. 9).
Spiro’s declaration, filed in a federal court on Tuesday (Dec. 10), alleges that the unnamed woman claimed to have previously sought out Buzbee Law Firm to aid her in a sex trafficking case. The woman said that she had heard of Buzbee partly due to his involvement with Diddy’s case and his potential victims. So she reached out to Buzbee but clarified that she wasn’t one of Diddy’s alleged victims. However, when she finally got a chance to speak with an associate at the Buzbee Law Firm, the associate insisted that they frame Diddy as her abuser, asking, “At what point did you meet Diddy?”
The declaration calls out another one of Buzbee’s alleged sketchy practices with the unnamed woman, stating that his firm pressured her into filing her suit anonymously. Tony’s firm then insisted that she doesn’t file a criminal complaint moving forward.
“[The woman] felt directed and coached by Mr. Buzbee’s firm to say that someone held her down and put drugs in her mouth when that was not her experience,” Alex Spiro’s legal document reads.
The unnamed woman was eventually dropped as a client once she didn’t comply. The Jane Doe claimed that “she felt forced to lie” about huge details in her lawsuit. Spiro stated that the woman reached out to his firm after the news of JAY-Z being added to the suit because she feels Buzbee’s M.O. is to “discredit those who are legitimate victims.” Interestingly enough, she said she filed anonymously in fear of Tony Buzbee retaliating.
The outlet reports that Buzbee has since responded with a statement, saying, “This is so ridiculous. If someone calls our intake and has a viable case that we believe has merit and we can pursue we will pursue it. We are currently pursuing hundreds of cases against individuals other than PDiddy. What we won’t do is pursue a case that we don’t believe has merit.”
