Irv Gotti Confirms DMX Biopic In The Works

Irv Gotti has revealed a project exploring the life of late rapper DMX is in the works.

The Murder Inc. Records co-founder shared the news while giving a health update after being seen using a walker following a stroke.

“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” detailed a statement from a representative. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

In his own words, Gotti added, “I’m getting older. That’s all,” expressing he is currently focused on a biopic on the Ruff Ryders rapper. He has yet to release details of the biographical film.

DMX, born Earl Simmons, died on April 9, 2021, at the age of 50. His cause of death was confirmed as a heart attack brought on by acute cocaine intoxication, resulting in a blockage in blood flow to the rapper’s brain, and ultimately leaving him in a “vegetative state.”

Last year, TMZ released the TMZ NO BS: DMX documentary on Tubi.

“DMX is one of rap’s most iconic figures, ascending to superstardom after rising from the streets of Yonkers to the top of the music world,” reads the description. “Despite his incredible success, a slew of legal and personal problems plagued the life of Earl Simmons. TMZ NO BS: DMX presents the story of one of the most legendary Hip-Hop artists of all time — and the demons that haunted him until his untimely death.”
