Ice Spice’s Manager Responds To Cleotrapa, Y2K Tour Controversy: “The Entitlement And Ego Are Crazy”

Ice Spice and Cleotrapa have been engaging in a back-and-forth about the latter’s alleged mistreatment on the former’s Y2K Tour. The Bronx rapper’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., has entered the conversation in an attempt to clarify the claims that are being made.

Cleotrapa called Ice “calculated” and said she was only invited on tour to clean up Ice Spice’s image after her text messages disparaging Nicki Minaj were leaked. She then claimed the “In Ha Mood” rapper gave her only a one-day notice prior to agreeing to the trek, and said Cleo would be “taken care of” during tour. However, Cleotrapa allegedly wound up having to come out of pocket for nearly all of her expenses, was mistreated, and more.

Rosemond stepped in to say he and his team gave Cleotrapa “an opportunity” and the onus is on her management team to decide if agreeing the tour would be a rational decision. “You have to invest in yourself, aka pay expenses if need be for the opportunity. It’s corny. Someone gives you an opportunity and this is the thanks the person gets. Openers dont have same things headliners has,” wrote on X.

He continued, “The entitlement and ego are crazy… An artist (and their team) needs to know what to do when these opportunities come their way. They need to know how to leverage it to advance their career. But some artists just don’t know how to come out with HITS so they crash out and go on rants.”

The manager also revealed that he has been in contact with the “Von Dutch” artist’s team, who he claims “knows his client is 100% wrong.” Elsewhere in his series of tweets, Rosemond explained that there are different business models when it comes to acts touring together and insinuated Cleo was going “viral for clout” when a “private phone call to speak on differences” could’ve been had instead.

In her 5-part TikTokseries, Cleotrapa said she was forced to change in bathrooms, come out of pocket for hotel rooms, and wasn’t paid. She said in her video, “You actually have one time to show me that you are jealous, intimidated, untrustworthy, fake, disloyal, ingenuine, manipulative, and calculated.”

The Like…? creator addressed the matter on Spaces, where her sentiments lined up with what her manager later said. “Crashing out is sad you guys,” relayed Ice Spice. “The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it… That’s when they decide to crash out every single time. I’m noticing a pattern.”
