Gunna Selected As Captain For NFL Flag Football Game In London

The NFL continues to make its overseas efforts a must-watch. They have partnered with YouTube to host a flag football game in London for the first time, where Gunna will captain one of the teams.
The matchup will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Copper Box Arena, one day before the New York Jets and Denver Broncos clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Atlanta rapper’s roster will include global flag football star Diana Flores playing quarterback, legendary wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and YouTube creators Deestroying, Khaby Lame, Speedy Morman, Jamie Laing, Sam Thompson, Nella Rose, and more.
Opposite of Gunna will be UK rapper Aitch, captaining a team that will feature former NFL QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, Adam W, U.S. flag football player Ashlea Klam, Tommy Fury, SV2, Jay Cinco, Mabel, and European women’s flag football champion Phoebe Schecter. The game will begin at 7 p.m. BST and be streamed on YouTube.
This follows the inaugural NFL flag football game, which featured Team iShowSpeed vs. Team Kai Cenat on Super Bowl LIX weekend. Sexyy Red, Latto, Quavo, Cam Newton, Duke Dennis, and more competed in the intense matchup that came down to the wire.
“I’m ready to bring my energy to the field and lead my team,” Gunna said of the upcoming event, per the NFL’s press release. “It’s great to team up with the NFL and YouTube on something that brings people together.” Aitch had similar excitement. “When the NFL asked me to be a captain, I was gassed,” he said. “Seeing how American football has blown up in the UK has been crazy, and now I get to play on the field with some of the best athletes, creators, and entertainers around the world.”
The “Fukumean” rapper has had a big 2025, between hosting the inaugural Wunna Run 5k in Brooklyn and releasing his August LP The Last Wun. The 25-song album featured Burna Boy, WizKid, Offset, Asake, and Nechie. He debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and sold 80,000 album-equivalent units in the first week.
