GloRilla Opens Up About Being “Victim” After Home Break-In And Arrest
GloRilla has spoken out after a summer break-in at her Georgia residence resulted in her arrest.
During an interview with local news station WSB-TV 2 Atlanta, the Memphis-born rapper and her legal team discussed the entire ordeal.
“I feel like me, and my brother and sister, we were victims in this situation,” shared the rapper. “But somehow, they’re trying to paint us out to be suspects, and I just feel like it’s all the way wrong.”
In July, the Grammy-nominee, legal name Gloria Woods, headed to Indianapolis to perform at the 2025 WNBA All-Star game. While away, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary. Three people attempted to invade the Memphis rapper’s home and fled the scene after GloRilla’s family, who were at the house, fired shots. In the process, law enforcement discovered marijuana on the property and issued a warrant for the rapper’s arrest.

“Over $700,000 of items were stolen from her home, and so her brother and sister naturally called the police when this was all going on,” added her lawyer, Drew Findling, during the news segment. “The most egregious part is that there seems to be no movement whatsoever in this home invasion, but rather, within 24 hours, there were warrants for her arrest for a marijuana possession case. That’s unconscionable.”
At the time, GloRilla voluntarily turned herself in and was released on $22,000 bond.
“CRAZY,” she exclaimed on social media after news of her arrest circulated. “My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game & instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects, they focus on some cannabis.”
She continued to clarify, 1. So no I wasn’t busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn’t home Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested. So that’s tea.”

At the time, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s office relayed in a statement to VIBE that “based on information obtained during the initial investigation, Task Force agents secured a search warrant for the home. A significant amount of marijuana was discovered in plain view.”
“The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,” detailed Sheriff Ron Freeman. “At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
