Eve Takes Control Of “Soft Life” Narrative In New Interview: “That’s Who I Am”

Eve explained how she earned and maintains her “soft life” in a new interview. During an appearance with Angie Martinez on the Angie Martinez In Real Life Podcast, the Philadelphia native dispelled the narrative that she “married a billionaire” and ” chose a different life.”

“Are you, like, the poster girl for the soft life right now?” questions Martinez, opening the door for the candid conversation.

“Yes!” exclaimed Eve. “Yes because I worked on myself. It’s not just soft life because of the man I’m with, because some people have this idea of what my life is because of this man or whatever. It’s because I f**king worked hard on my own sh*t.”

The host added on, “That is perception, by the way. That you married the billionaire, and you have figured out a life, and you chose a different life… overseas.”

“Everybody says that,” rebutted the 46-year-old.

“He’s not a billionaire. I need to clear that up. He’s not a billionaire. He ain’t broke, but I ain’t broke either. So, I’m not gonna be with a broke dude. You know what I mean? But before I met him, I was doing work. But because I have him, it helped me do better work because he’s a good dude. I’m really lucky. But beyond that, people who know me, who know me intimately, my friends, know that I don’t stop working on myself. I do all the things. I do the healing, I do the acupuncture, I do the spinal energetics, I do the Reiki, I do the breath work. That’s my life. That’s who I am, for real. I do the work.”

Eve and her husband Maximillion Cooper have been married since 2014, although according to PEOPLE Magazine, he was “mesmerized” by the rapper when he first met her in 2010. They share Cooper’s four children and had their first child together, Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper, in 2022.

“We respect each other, we are the realest. It’s the realest relationship I’ve ever had. He’s my homie. All those sound like clichés but really it’s working,” remarked the Grammy-winner to the outlet in the past.

In the full conversation on IRL, the two women discussed Eve’s time with Ruff Ryders, the current Where The Party At tour, motherhood and her marriage, and more. Watch the episode below.
