Ella Mai, Jayson Tatum Pregnancy Rumors Fly After NBA Finals
OOP! Congrats are in order! Ella Mai and Jayson Tatum appear to be celebrating two momentous occasions: Tatum winning his first NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics, and Ella’s baby bump??
Footage and pictures showing the singer’s baby bump began swirling around the internet on Tuesday (June 18)—a day after confetti descended from the rafters of the Celtics’ TD Garden arena. In the pictures and clips, she’s seen in Jayson’s jersey with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath, the jersey’s No. 0 bulging with life.
In one video, the “Boo’d Up” songstress is seen giving her man affection as they walk by each other backstage in the arena. Another clip finds Mai exchanging pleasantries with several folks in a party setting while attempting to make herself comfortable at the function. Ella and Jayson have yet to publicly announce that they are expecting—not that an official declaration is needed, but, you know, social media.
Speaking of social media, the singer’s pregnancy was somehow predicted eight weeks ago. A fan commented on one of the United Kingdom artist’s posts from February, where Ella trolled her fans, captioning the picture, “You said you needed new music, so here’s a new lock screen.” The fan bluntly shot back, questioning where the musician has been since she dropped off her sophomore album, Heart on My Sleeve, with a simple question: “You pregnant?” Many fans have since flocked to the comment, laughing at the scary-accurate prediction in the aftermath of her revealed baby bump. “The fact you knew eight weeks ago is what’s getting me !!! But YESSSSS she issss,” another fan responded.
Jayson Tatum and Ella Mai’s relationship can be traced back to their first public appearance together at Michael Rubin’s annual July all-white party in 2020. The couple was recently spotted wearing matching green outfits at a wedding for Marcus Smart, Tatum’s former teammate, in 2023.
This brings us to 2024, with Ella showing up to support her man, now an NBA Champion. No. 0 and the Celtics thwarted the Dallas Mavericks’ plans of lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy on Monday (June 17), beating Kyrie Irving, Luka Dončić, and the Mavs 106-88. Tatum scored 31 points, with 11 assists and 8 rebounds in 45 minutes of play.
Congratulations to the lowkey couple!
