Dwight Howard Responds To Fans Warning Fiancée Amy Luciani About His Past: “Move Along”

Dwight Howard is determined to leave his 2024 drama behind and start fresh in the new year. Last night (Dec. 30), the NBA star went on Instagram Live and engaged with fans, who were commenting about his relationship with fiancée Amy Luciani. He responded with his sentiments about the importance of leaving the past in the past.

The eight-time All-Star read and reacted to a person’s comment, saying, “‘Amy, you don’t know what this man did in his past.’ This person who wrote that comment will never get blessed like they’re supposed to. Everybody in the world got a past, but guess what? When you get into a relationship with somebody, you don’t bring the past into the relationship.”

He continued, “The past is the past for a reason. Somebody like you will be stuck in the past for the rest of your life. You won’t get the benefits and the blessings you’re supposed to get because you’re worried about someone else and you’re worried about the past too much.”

Howard doubled down by saying he’s looking forward to leaving this year’s occurrences behind when the ball drops. “Whatever happened to me in 2024, it ain’t coming with me to 2025. Whatever happened to me in 2023, it didn’t come with me in 2024. Move along. Why would I keep something with me from over a decade ago? I’m not carrying that weight with me. I’m letting it go, so I can be blessed,” he concluded.

Throughout the clip, Luciani could be heard echoing her man’s sentiments and agreeing with all of his points. The comment section continued to urge her to see the “signs,” with one of the top-liked replies reading, “If she needed a sign that was it cause wtf.” Another added, “She doesn’t see none of the red flags that are smacking her in her face.”

One user encouraged people to stay in their lane, writing, “You cannot stop people from being blessed. Don’t mind God’s business.”

The comments on Howard’s Live stemmed from the recent drama surrounding his newly announced engagement and his ex-girlfriend Royce Reed’s public exposé. Reed created a new Instagram account @Ihadababybysuperman on Saturday (Dec. 28) to expose the “truths” about her relationship with the former LA Laker.

Throughout the series of clips, Royce spoke about how Howard was not supportive of her goal to dance for her “dream team,” her Basketball Wives experience, and more. She accused Dwight of verbal, physical, and mental abuse, and provided receipts within her six videos.
